Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) has emphasized its unwavering commitment to launching numerous diverse projects and initiatives to support and enhance community development, unifying efforts to serve society as a whole and Department members in particular. In 2019, the "Aman" Network was established to provide urgent support in humanitarian crises and disasters throughout the Emirate.
Commenting on this, Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Community Cohesion Department at the SSSD, explained that the "Aman" network is a program that responds and provides immediate support to beneficiaries of the Department. Its objective is to provide contributions in exceptional and urgent circumstances such as natural disasters, accidents, and emergency intervention situations that pose a threat to the affected individuals. This is achieved by providing material or in-kind contributions to low-income registered beneficiaries of the Department.
Al Hammadi urged institutions, companies, and shops to support the network in various areas and categories, by providing electrical and electronic devices, furnishings and furniture, as well as urgent maintenance services for ceilings, concrete, or house painting, building materials, health tools, and sanitary services. In addition, she emphasized the importance of providing food and clothing support, as well as supporting the health sector, such as pharmacies, health centers, hospitals, and laboratories, by providing necessary medications and treatment services for emergency cases, free consultations, and medical examinations.
