The club's board chairman, Ahmed Al Owais, has announced that a total of 12 teams will compete in the event during the holy month of Ramadan. Each team will include five players, three of whom will be nationals of the United Arab Emirates.
Al Owais emphasised that all competitors are competing for the emirate's namesake cup and that hosting jiu-jitsu competitions helps improve the overall standard of the sport in the emirate and encourages promising young athletes to join the club's teams.
