SCCI appreciates staff's role in improving services

Sharjah24: In recognition of their performance and achievements in 2022, Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has celebrated at its annual ceremony its distinguished employees and those of Expo Centre Sharjah (ECS) and Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre (Tahkeem). The celebration also included a recognition of the efforts of SCCI's partners who supported its projects and initiatives during the past year.
The ceremony, which was held at the SCCI's headquarters under the banner ‘Be Proud’, was attended by Sultan Al Owais, SCCI's Chairman, Waleed Abdurrahman Bukhatir, SCCI's Second Vice Chairman,  Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi, SCCI's Director-General,  Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, ECS's CEO, members of the SCCI's Board of Directors, and a number of its staff and officials.

Delivering his speech at the ceremony, Abdullah Sultan Al Owais expressed the SCCI's pride in its employees for their efforts in enhancing the Chamber's reputation within the business community inside and outside of the country. Al-Owais underscored the staff hard work and resolve to improve performance, deliver the SCCI's message and achieve its vision, goals and strategies in providing its distinguished services to the members, in line with the directives and visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Al-Owais pointed out that the SCCI's achievements in 2022 were very amazing and that they helped achieve the goals of creating the best investment environment, protecting the interests of businessmen, enhancing Sharjah's position on the global business map and improving its economic and competitive potential. Al-Owais spotlighted the SCCI's quality and exceptional achievements in 2022 in terms of the growing number of its members, that is a 6.2% increase over the previous year – i.e. 65,027 new and renewed memberships. He also underlined the 2% increase in the total number of issued certificates of origin that reached 72,865, as well as many other outstanding achievements, stressing that everything was achieved due to the ardent efforts of SCCI's staff, who worked in a spirit of one team towards fulfilling SCCI's vision, which focuses on excellence and innovation to fulfil the leadership's high aspirations and achieve goals.

Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al-Awadi congratulated the SCCI's distinguished employees on their exceptional quality achievements, stressing that working for the national economy and business community in Sharjah still requires the SCCI's employees at all levels to exert more efforts and continue to raise the bar in terms of creativity and innovation at work in order to boost UAE's reputation and the Emirate of Sharjah's position, indicating that the SCCI has always been keen to elevate the human element and motivate it being the main pillar of  development to reach the desired objectives. Al-Awadi also highlighted the issue of improving the work environment and enhancing job loyalty in order to fulfil the aspirations of SCCI's members and affiliates.

Saif Al Midfa, in turn, highlighted the ECS's achievements in 2022, noting that it hosted and organised more than 40 exhibitions and attracted over 2.5 million visitors, which reflects the success of ECS's strategies. Al-Midfa praised the unlimited support of the wise leadership and SCCI and the efforts of the distinguished loyal staff, who all helped ECS become a global destination and an active contributor to the investment climate in the emirate, adding value to the business environment and taking Sharjah up to new horizons of regional and global economic achievements.
