Successful SCCI participation in Gulfood 2023

Sharjah24: Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by Sharjah Exports Development Center (SEDC), has wrapped up its participation in the Gulfood 2023 exhibition's 28th edition on a high note. The event concluded its activities on February 24 at Dubai World Trade Centre, where SEDC's pavilion hosted a number of national companies specialised in the manufacture and trade of foodstuffs and managed to attract a big number of investors and major players in the food and beverage industry from all over the world.
The Chamber's pavilion witnessed meetings with representatives of Arab and international delegations to the exhibition, where Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, SCCI's Chairman, met with Russian and Iraqi delegations, as well as investors and businessmen from various countries. The meetings aimed at discussing areas of cooperation and coordination to promote foreign products in the UAE market, which is one of the chief hubs of world food trade.

Abdulaziz Shattaf, Assistant Director-General, Business & Communication Sector at SCCI, stressed that the participation of the Chamber accompanied by national companies operating in Sharjah, expresses SCCI's keenness to take part in this global event, which attracted over 5,000 exhibitors this year, and come in line with the UAE policies related to boosting food trade and sustainability and enabling access to food resources, which is a strategic priority for the country. He pointed out that SCCI was able during the exhibition to enable national companies to promote their products, find new markets and get in touch with new  importers, investors and partners, which helped increase global market shares for local exporters and enhance the food sector contribution to the Emirate of Sharjah's gross domestic product (GDP).

Ali Al-Jari, , SEDC's Director, indicated that the center's participation in the exhibition aimed at supporting local industries and opening new export channels for Emirati companies in the local, regional and global markets. He added that SEDC spotlighted the available investment opportunities in Sharjah's food sector. He also highlighted the competitive advantages and attractive incentives offered by the emirate to foreign investors, enabling them to establish their businesses easily in a safe and stable economic environment that guarantees best returns and expansion in the region's markets.

A number of representatives of national companies that took part within the SEDC's pavilion underscored the participation's importance and results, expressing their appreciation of SCCI's efforts to support the local business community and open new export channels for national products.
