Sharjah24: Internationally acclaimed Czech photographer Bára Prášilová is showcasing her signature style at the ongoing 7th annual edition of the International Photography Festival ‘Xposure’, merging absurd humour, inspiring beauty, playfulness and a persistent passion for perfection.
Creating a visual world that consists of imaginary memories and explorations of limitless boundaries, Prášilová is showcasing her Circle series at the festival, which links the seemingly real and the seemingly unreal. The series explores the themes of distance and closeness, gender, age, power, strength, and the circle of life.

Prášilová's meticulous planning and use of real props and objects give her subjects an authenticity that sets her work apart. With her surreal images balancing on the edge of beauty and weirdness, Prášilová's visual world consists of imaginary memories and explorations of what could have happened if boundaries didn't exist.

"The love for colours comes naturally to me and I prefer my models to be expressionless or even confused to bring out the best in my photos. Symmetry and balance play a big role in my work," said Prášilová during her session at Xposure Festival.

In addition to still photography, Prášilová has also branched out into the world of moving images, creating videos based on her stills to bring another layer of reality to her work.

With biological clocks, time, and individuality being recurring themes in her work, Prášilová emphasises the importance of collaboration with her team to create these intensively laborious surreal images. "My detailed sketches, custom-made props and costumes help me bring my ideas and imagination to life creating images with deep messages," she added.
