Sharjah 24: Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa) hosted 20 EMBA students from the London Business School attending the sixth edition of the Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF) on February 8 and 9 at Al Jawaher Convention Centre.
The students, who already have 10 to 15 years of hands-on experience in various sectors, including consulting, banking, energy, construction, marketing, retail, military, biotech, finance, and medicine, were walked through the dynamic investment landscape of Sharjah.
Sheraa also hosted two workshops on the sidelines of SIF 2023 for the visiting students and SIF attendees to enhance their understanding of the emirate and boost interest in launching their ventures in Sharjah. The first workshop, Navigating the Investment Landscape: A Workshop on Raising Funding for Scale-Up Startups, was led by Enakshi Madan Roy who has over 15 years of investing experience in listed equity. The second workshop, Road to R&D Commercialisation: Strategies for Scale-Up Startups, was led by Christian Frost Jensen, a commercial advisor and expert-in-residence at Sheraa.
The workshops offered a unique opportunity for students to learn from experts in the field and network with peers from around the world. Enakshi and Christian, both with a wealth of business acumen, shared their expertise in ESG (environmental, social and governance) investing, internationalisation, go-to-market strategies, product lifecycle management, and project management. Attendees were also given a comprehensive understanding of the research and development commercialisation process, including how to validate with customers, find market opportunities, and build market strategies.
The student visit was yet another milestone in establishing collaboration between the London Business School and Sheraa, as both organisations seek to support entrepreneurship and innovation in emerging markets. Sheraa remains committed to offering opportunities for students to expand their knowledge and improve their skills, furthering the goal of fostering innovation and cultural exchange.
