Sharjah 24: The documentary film "Sharjah Safari", produced by the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, in partnership with the Sharjah Government Media Bureau and in cooperation with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah, won the Best Feature Documentary Award and the New York International Film Awards trophy in the United States of America.
The film won the award after it competed with a group of works of various kinds, including long and short documentaries, and others.
The festival, which was established four years ago, offers live performances with the aim of supporting filmmakers by promoting their distinguished films, while the jury awards prizes for the best participating films, and a selection of winning films is presented monthly through live and direct shows to the public at the famous Crane Theatre in New York.
The documentary film "Sharjah Safari" reviews the stages of establishing the project, from the beginning of planning and design, to implementation and the close follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and His Highness’s frequent visits to the project, up to its opening and inauguration to the public.
