Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Buds Team won the Sharjah International Youth Basketball Championship Cup, which was organised by the Sharjah Sports Council in cooperation with the Jam Academy for Sports Events and hosted by the Sharjah Sports Club Hall, after beating the Central Region team 52-50. The Sharjah Buds achieved victory in all matches of the 12-year-old category.
The Sharjah players under 14 years old, ranked fourth, and the King's juniors in the under 16-age group ranked fifth.
Sharjah player Mahmoud Ahmed Taha also won the best player award in the tournament, Buds category.
The winners were crowned by Abdul Malik Jani, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, in the presence of Abdul Latif Al Fardan, Vice President of the UAE Basketball Association, and Saeed Ali Al Ajel, Acting Secretary General of the Sharjah Sports Council.
It is noteworthy that this edition is the third of the Sharjah International Youth Basketball Championship, and its tournaments were held from 27 to 30 December, with the participation of 350 boys and girls players from 24 teams, representing 6 countries, namely the UAE, Jordan, India, Spain, Serbia and Kenya.
