Sharjah 24: The #LetsMajaz season of music and culture got off to a spirited start as Nawal El Zoghbi, the Lebanese diva feted as the "Golden Star," conquered the hearts and minds of music lovers in the country with her powerful performance during the Saturday night concert at Sharjah’s iconic Al Majaz Amphitheatre.
Nawal began the evening with her much loved song “you keep an account of your words” casting a spell on the audience. The singer presented some of her biggest hits and landmark songs recreating the magic of her 28-year long creative journey, including "The Nights", "Al-Dalona" and "What I Wished For".
An electric audience responded enthusiastically to her, repeatedly joining her. The singer also presented her latest song titled “concert” which has already earned her massive popularity and millions of views on YouTube in the shortest period of time. She signed off with the song "How’ve you been" and "It’s an honour, people!".
Wael Kfoury, the King of Romance
The evening got more interesting and magical when Wael Kfoury, the King of Romance, took the stage in the second half of the concert. The Lebanese star, who is known for his powerful and booming mountainous voice and enjoys massive popularity, got a wild and rapturous reception by the audience.
Kfoury began with the wildly popular song, “I promised you the stars of the night and my whole life” reminding the audience why he is known as the King of Romance in the region. Beginning his artistic journey in the 1990s, the Lebanese icon is known for some of the most unforgettable songs in recent years.
In an electric atmosphere, the audience interacted with the artist’s creations on the beat of the tunes “If we love, it is a mistake” and “We are all Banjar” and others. The artist also sang, “I Walked My Way” by the late able artist Melhem Barakat.
Kfoury also treated his fans to his recent songs such as “Sit Al Kul” which he performs in a distinctive style invoking love and romance and touching both young and old. The song enjoys huge popularity on musical charts and social media.
The first night of #LetsMajaz season of concerts wrapped up with the song, "The Strong Girl". The first concert starring “the King of Romance” and the “Golden Star” turned out to be a hugely successful affair.
