Sharjah24 - WAM: A well known French news website said that the United Arab Emirates, is “home to bold initiatives”, hailing the Global Media Congress (GMC), which Abu Dhabi will host on November 15-17, as a significant and useful “platform that will come up with solutions to the challenges faced by the media industry.”
This came in an article on Atlantico, a well-known French news website, where Gerard Vespierre, an influential French media columnist and Associate Researcher at the FEMO Foundation for Middle East Studies, wrote about the current situation in the media industry and its future direction. The article provides an analysis of ongoing media trends in France and across the world as well as challenges faced by the industry.
Highlighting the international nature of the event, the writer said: “All information professions, regardless of the country, are subject to this multiplicity of technical, economic and strategic challenges. Thus, an overview, and global exchanges can only be welcome. This is the objective of the various forums that will take place within the framework of the Global Media Congress, hosted from November 15 to 17, in Abu Dhabi.
"Dialogue between stakeholders, journalists, press groups, digital platforms, and regulatory authorities, is absolutely essential. An international framework is the only one capable of encouraging the creation of new business models, leading to strong strategic partnerships, and exploring new content distribution channels. The choice of the hub of the United Arab Emirates, home to bold initiatives in terms of Web 3.0, has a strong symbolism. Hopefully in a few days, participants in this forum will engage in such perspectives. Expectations are high.”
He concluded the piece by saying that the Global Media Congress is an important and useful platform to come up with solutions to the challenges faced by the media industry
