This came during a reception by Sharjah Ruler, in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah on Thursday, at Al Badee Palace, the first team of the Sharjah Football Club, crowned with the President's Cup for the 2021-2022 season.
Sharjah Ruler congratulated the Sharjah Sports Club on the winning, pointing to the great roles of the administration, and the importance of good play in winning and bringing joy to the audience, stressing the need to stay away from reckless behavior that spoils the fun of playing, and the watching pleasure.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi thanked club management and the players, calling on them to be keen on sports ethics, which leads to goals completion, raising young people, providing a good example for future generations, keenness to uphold the values of tolerance with competitors, and keenness to play with moral responsibility.
His Highness praised the high level of the two sides of the match from Sharjah and Al Wahda teams, who played a great match with few mistakes, in addition to the quality of organization, arrangement, as well as the level of refereeing.
Sharjah Ruler explained that he watching the football matches in various levels, pointing out that what the players in the various teams and clubs present during the matches is a role model for new generations, recalling previous years and how the players levels and cooperation between them.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah indicated the necessity of coordinating the dates of holding matches and preparations for external competitions, whether for clubs or the national team, so that the matches and the players are followed up well, called for adjusting the timing of the matches so that they do not overlap between the different tournaments, the preparations of the clubs, the atmosphere of competition, and the public follow-up of each tournament.
His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, pointed out the need for referees in the country to raise their levels and develop them, reduce match stops, take into account the efforts of clubs in preparing and presenting good matches, and keenness on self-development and continuous, which raises the levels of referees in a world-class professional manner.
The Ruler of Sharjah stressed the importance of adhering to good cheerleading from the public, and that watching the match from the stadium is a contribution and motivation to the players, pointing out that the negative phenomena of the public's nerves and inappropriate chants against the players and referees negatively affect the reputation of the team and the country.
At the end of his speech, His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah wished success to Sharjah clubs and teams in football and all games, and to continue its efforts to develop and advance the efforts of sports in the emirate, and to achieve championships in future competitions.
His Highness shook hands with officials, players and administrative and technical bodies, and took memorial photos with the winning team, amid great joy for all attendees.
The members of the administrative and technical staff and the players of the Sharjah Club thanked His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for the great and continuous support that contributed to the club's reaching the podiums, praising His Highness' reception and his constant encouragement to them.
The Sharjah First Football Club team won President's Cup after its 1-0 victory over Al Wahda Club in the final match that brought them together at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium last Friday.
The tournament is the ninth achieved by the first football team in Sharjah Club at the level of the President's Cup.
