Sharjah24 - AFP: On Tuesday, US tech giant Meta acknowledged a widespread outage affecting its messaging service WhatsApp and stated it was working to "as swiftly as possible" restore the app.
According to a Meta representative who said , "We're aware that certain users are now having problems sending messages and we're attempting to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible."
On Tuesday morning, the monitoring website Downdetector and user complaints on social media both indicated issues with the enormously popular service.
According to Downdetector, thousands of WhatsApp users have been reporting issues since 07:17 GMT, with a strong rise showing up on its dedicated 24-hour chart.
Social media users reported being unable to send messages or connect to the app.
The parent company of WhatsApp, Meta, experienced an unheard-of significant outage in 2017.
