Sharjah24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, today received in his court, Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of South Sudan, and the accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman.
The delegation included Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin, Minister of Presidential Affairs; Dr. Nadia Arop Dudi, Minister of Culture, Museums and National Heritage; General Simon Yein Makuach, Director-General of the General Intelligence Bureau at NSS; Garang Diing, Ambassador of South Sudan to the UAE; and Kondok Wurok, South Sudan Consul-General in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, Sheikh Humaid welcomed Mayardit and his delegation, and the two sides discussed strengthening the cooperation between the UAE and South Sudan, as well as several regional issues of mutual concern.
Sheikh Humaid also affirmed the UAE’s support for any actions that will safeguard the interests of the people of South Sudan towards prosperity and development.
Mayardit expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome he received, and his appreciation for the developmental support provided to his country.
He also noted his keenness to enhance the overall relations between the two countries, in light of the UAE’s key role in Africa and its prominent regional and global stature, lauding the development witnessed by the UAE in general and Ajman in particular.
The meeting was attended by a number of Sheikhs, heads and directors of government departments and institutions in Ajman.
