Sharjah 24: Sharjah Municipality (SM) announced that 2440 parking spaces have been subjected to fees since the beginning of 2022, in line with its continuous efforts to provide public parking services to residents and visitors in various areas of the city.
Such efforts come in light of the qualitative urban and population boom witnessed by the Emirate of Sharjah, as an ideal environment for the luxury of living and investment and a unique tourist destination.
In this context, Hamed Al Qaed, Director of the Public Parking Department in Sharjah Municipality (SM), confirmed that the total number of public parking spaces in the city of Sharjah is about 57,000, subject to fees.
He added that the inspection teams monitor any violations and to ensure that these positions are not misused, such as standing without paying fees or booking more than one parking spot and other behaviours.
The Director of the Public Parking Department noted that the municipality has closed since the beginning of this year 53 lots distorting the general appearance in a number of areas.
