EPAA concludes its participation in EAZA '22 conference

Sharjah24: A delegation of specialists from the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) recently participated in the EAZA Annual Conference in Portugal. The event, run by the European Association for Zoos and Aquaria, convened more than 900 researchers and specialists in the field of wildlife and marine life.
It is an essential station for research, discussion, and meeting with researchers and specialists.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of the Environment and Protected Areas Authority in Sharjah (EPAA) said: "We were keen to participate in the European Association for Zoos and Aquaria Conference because of the vital role it plays in establishing research and facilitating discussions and meetings with researchers, specialists."
Activities varied over the five days conference and included lectures, workshops, presentations for research and studies, and specialised events.

Hana Saif Al Suwaidi indicated that the topics covered by the conference were rich and varied and covered marine organisms, birds, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, nature reserves, and much more. The event outlined research carried out and successes achieved throughout the year.

Many special activities
The conference included many activities, such as ice breakers which aimed to gather all attendees in one place to exchange culture and experience in a pleasant atmosphere. The conference included a documentary film and a field trip on day two of the conference to Zoomarine Park. The park allocated this day to conference participants, which allowed them to exchange experiences with administrators, employees, and specialists working in the park. The visit also included birds and dolphin shows.
