Organisers said the International Council on Archives Abu Dhabi Congress coming under the title "Empowering Knowledge Societies" is dedicated to the effective management of records and the preservation of the world’s archival heritage. The Congress is making effective records and archives management as it is a basic precondition for good governance, the rule of law, administrative transparency, the preservation of mankind’s collective memory, and access to information by citizens.
