Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, received Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Midfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Archives (NA).
During the meeting, Sheikh Mansour was briefed about the strategic plan to establish the National Library, after the issuance of Federal Law No.13 for 2021 amending Federal Law No.7 for 2008 on the NA.
Sheikh Mansour lauded the board’s work and directed to draft a comprehensive plan to make the library a cultural beacon in the UAE, wishing its members success in achieving their duties and plans.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Vice-Chairman of the Board, and board members Dr. Abdullah Al Maghrabi, Dr. Abdulla Muhammad Alraisi, and Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Acting Director-General.
The plan aims to enhance the stature of the library as a national reference and cultural centre, to preserve the heritage of the UAE and showcase its scientific development.
