Kelly Clarkson receives Hollywood Walk of Fame star

"I feel very lucky and fortunate because I know a lot of talented people that love singing and are amazing at it and writing songs and even talk show hosts, a lot of people could do that and I just feel very fortunate that I get the chance," she said.

Clarkson, who was the winner of the original series of 'American Idol', was feted by the show's judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul.

Cowell, while making a speech about Clarkson, said "you validated what we did because if we didn't find a star, there's no point doing these shows."

The people at the ceremony, which was lined with her fans, included her family, her band and her production team for her television talk show.
