Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court, chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Development Council (MDC) held at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, participants discussed several policies and initiatives aimed at strengthening government work, as well as those related to education, agriculture and telecommunications development, and legislation to support the economy and organise the flow of heavy vehicles on federal roads.
Regarding the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), the council was briefed about the progress of joint GCC economic action and a report on the country's participation in the GCC Joint Programme Production Institution and Gulf Radio and Television Organisation.
The council then discussed the Supreme Audit Institution’s report on the final accounts of the Emirates Development Bank, the Emirates General Petroleum Corporation, and the Emirates General Transport and Services Corporation for the fiscal year ending in December 2021.
The council also discussed the request of the Federal National Council (FNC) to discuss the government’s policy on increasing citizens’ participation in the health sector, as well as the FNC’s recommendations on the policies of the Ministry of Culture and Youth, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme.
The council discussed the outcomes of the 12th Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organisation held in Geneva in June, and the World Conference on Women in Thailand's capital, Bangkok, during the same month, as well as the laying of the foundation stone of the Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Centre for Women’s Education and Training in Zanzibar, Tanzania, in July.
