Sharjah 24: In a poetry session, with focus on patriotic and love poems, the Al Hira Literary Council of the Sharjah Department of Culture hosted the poets: Amer bin Hadfa Al Ameri, Rashid bin Omair Al Shamsi, and Mabkhout bin Mar’ie Al Rabie, and was presented by Saeed bin Salem Al Qamzi, in the presence of Butti Al Mazloum, director of the council, and a number of intellectuals, poets, and folk poetry enthusiasts.
At the outset of the session, Al Qamzi stressed that the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, of folk poetry maintains its position among other literary arts, and gives poets a wide area of creativity, pointing out that the session includes a distinguished galaxy of poets who have a clear imprint in the local and Arab literary arena.

Some poems adhered to the authentic Emirati vocabulary that reflects the poet’s belonging to the homeland, while others dealt with love, grief, and self-consolation with hope, nostalgia and memories.
