Sharjah 24 – AFP: The Democratic Republic of Congo has said that 36 people, including four United Nations peacekeepers, died during anti-UN protests in the east of the country last week.
In a statement on Tuesday, government spokesman Patrick Muyaya also said that "nearly 170" people had been wounded. The latest toll marks an increase on an earlier reported figure of 19 people killed during the protests.
