Mansour bin Zayed: Education is one of country’s priorities

Sharjah24 – WAM: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khalifa Award for Education, said education is one of the country’s priorities, due to the keenness of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to advance the education system and strengthen national cadres in this field, as well as to improve the country’s educational ecosystem.
Education has always been a key foundation of the process of national development since the era of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, he added, noting that the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has followed this approach in prioritising the Emirati education system.

"The UAE’s education system is about to enter its golden era, which will be an innovative period, due to the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose wise vision will be the roadmap for national excellence, and will increase the competitiveness of future generations to meet the demands of the labour market, in line with the agenda of the Year of the 50th," he further added.

Sheikh Mansour then lauded the award’s leading role in promoting the culture of excellence in education, both locally and regionally.

He made this statement during a ceremony held by the award to honour 35 winners (18 from UAE and 17 from Arab countries) of its 15th edition, which was held in the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, with the attendance of Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Award, on behalf of Sheikh Mansour.

The ceremony was also attended by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Advisor to the UAE President; Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education; Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to the UAE President and Supreme President of UAE University; Hussain Al Hammadi, Member of the Award’s Board of Trustees; Dr. Saeed Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Sharjah Council for Education; Muhammad Salem Al Dhaheri, Member of the Award’s Board of Trustees; Amal Al Afifi, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education, and other senior officials.
