Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, announced that the Emirate of Sharjah has given up its share in the Zayed Housing Programme to the other emirates, stressing that the Emirate of Sharjah has enough in the Sharjah Housing Programme to cover the housing needs of the Emirate's citizens.
This came during a call of His Highness, through the "Direct Line" programme, broadcast on Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA)’s Radio and Television, with Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA).
His Highness stated that the Sharjah Housing Programme began in 2012, and over the past 10 years, have provided 9,608 homes for citizens between grants and loans, and will reach 10,000 beneficiaries by the end of this year at a cost of 8 billion dirhams. In addition to the housing that will benefit 3350 families at the level of Emirate.
His Highness stressed that those over the age of 60 have the highest priority, giving them treatment cards for free, providing them with medicines, excellent service and taking care of all their other needs.
His Highness gave advice to the youth, maintaining that unfortunately, young people accumulate debts, describing this situation as a "disaster" that burdens families, wives, children and their future, telling them to take care of their future.
