Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, has chaired the second meeting of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC), in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The meeting addressed the council’s achievements since its establishment, as well as the launch of the Nafis programme.
Among the attendees were Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi, Minister of Education; Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy; Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation; Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs; Shamma bint Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Youth Affairs; Sarah bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Advanced Technology; Ghanam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council; as well as other board members of the Council.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mansour said the UAE’s leadership is keen to support citizens across all economic sectors, most notably those in the labour market, as well as provide opportunities to encourage Emirati talents to contribute and increase their presence in the private sector.
The council cooperates with all strategic partners to increase Emiratisation rates in the sector and create further employment opportunities around the country, he added.
The meeting also reviewed data collected from the previous period, which highlighted the number of new citizens who entered the private sector since the launch of the Nafis programme in September 2021, totalling 5,558, while the number of companies hiring new employees totalled 1,774.
Data from the programme showed that the number of registered citizens who benefitted from its initiatives totalled 25,876, and the job opportunities it created reached 2,524.
Ghanam Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Council, said that reaching 5,500 jobs in the private sector underscores the confidence of citizens in the programme, stressing that the council aims to create appropriate job opportunities for citizens in the private sector, and the programme has witnessed a high demand from citizens wishing to join the private sector and benefit from related initiatives.
Among the programme’s objectives, two sets of initiatives were launched as part of the "Projects of the 50".
The first includes several financial support programmes, including a citizens' salary support programme for citizens wishing to work in the private sector, and the Mazaya Programme, which is a fixed financial bonus for citizen employees working in some targeted specialisations, as well as a job opportunities programme that provides a platform for job postings and links Emirati citizens to job opportunities in the private sector.
The second includes four training programmes, which are the Competencies Programme, the Nursing Sector Cadres Development Programme, the Bachelor’s Programme in Nursing and the Experience Programme.
