Sharjah24 – WAM: Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the UAE’s Special Envoy for Climate Change, met with Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, who is the chairman of 27th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 27), which will be hosted in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El Sheikh.
During the meeting, which addressed a number of issues of interest, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber conveyed the greetings of Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, to the leadership, government and people of Egypt.
The two sides also reviewed Egypt's preparations for hosting the COP27 Climate Conference, and underlined the need for maintaining continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries in this respect, specially that the UAE will host the COP 28 in 2023.
Dr. Sultan Al-Jaber hailed the efforts made by Egypt in reducing the consequences of climate change and developing renewable energy projects.
