FNC, Paraguayan Senate discuss cooperation

During the meeting
Sharjah 24 – WAM: Hamad Ahmed Al Rahoumi, First Deputy Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Oscar Salomon, President of the Senate of Paraguay, at the FNC Secretariat’s headquarters.
Saeed Rashid Al Abedi, Vice Chairman of the Emirati-Latin American and North American Parliaments Friendship Committee of the FNC, Mariam Majid bin Thaniya, Member of the Committee, and FNC members Naema Abdulrahman Al Mansouri and Khalfan Rashid Al Shamsi, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed boosting their parliamentary relations and highlighted the importance of promoting cooperation with Latin American parliaments.

Al Rahoumi said the UAE’s foreign policy aims to establish partnerships and relations with all countries, stressing the joint cooperation agreement between the FNC and the Group of Latin America and the Caribbean (GRULAC) of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) is helping enhance the coordination between the two sides, in light of their mutual principles, such as achieving global peace and security.

Salmon highlighted the keenness of the Paraguayan Senate to improve its communication with the FNC and begin taking part in parliamentary friendship committee meetings between the two organisations.
