Sharjah 24: Ayman Othman Al Baroot, Secretary-General of Arab Parliament for the Child (APC), chaired the meeting of the organising committees for the third session of the second session of the Parliament, and discussed the developments of the remote organisation and of the plenary session including workshops and events, during the period from the twenty-fourth to the twenty-sixth of February.
The meeting was held at the headquarters of the Arab Parliament for the Child in Sharjah, in the presence of the heads and members of the organising committees from APC General Secretariat and the General Secretariat of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Ayman Othman Al Baroot congratulated His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of His Highness’s assumption of power in the Emirate of Sharjah.  His Excellency Ayman Othman Al Baroot He highly praised His Highness’ support for childhood and his keenness to establish institutions that provide support for children along with his vision and unlimited support for the establishment of the Arab Parliament for the child, which represents His Highness wish for the Arab child to have a parliament that discusses child issues and hosts Arab children to be supportive of their countries.

On behalf of the members of the Arab Parliament for the child, Ayman Othman Al Baroot saluted and praised His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his efforts and attention to the child over the past five decades.

The committees discussed their roles and tasks related to the preparation for the third APC parliamentary session, which will be held remotely due to the current precautions for the Corona pandemic.

The members of the committees indicated that they will continue the preparations and communication with all Arab countries through delegates affiliated with the League of Arab States, encouraging children to attend the session, to participate in programmes and courses that enrich the parliamentary and societal achievements of children contributing to character building.

The members of the committees discussed the role of partners organising events, programmes, and activities, in addition to enabling members of Parliament to benefit from the programmes, presenting their views on the topic of the session, and holding a meeting on Child Rights during the session.
