Sharjah 24: Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC), launched the exhibition "Bonds" by Iraqi artists Wissam Al Sayegh and Sumaya Jasim, as well as three more exhibitions as part of the 24th Islamic Arts Festival.
The Exhibition "Arabic Calligraphy and Ceramics" emphasises the relationship between the two components, whether in meaning or form, and commemorates it through ceramic pieces by Iraqi artist Wissam Al-Sayegh and Sumaya Jasim.

According to Al Sayegh, works of art are divided into murals or 3D constructions with an attempt to incorporate aspects related to Calligraphy and ceramics, explaining that the two elements are essential in Islamic arts, where Muslim potters replaced gold or high material value pots with plain ceramics to achieve the same colour and texture.
