Sharjah24 – AFP: Spain's King Felipe VI in his traditional Christmas message calls on people to act "with the greatest responsibility, individually and collectively" in the context of rising Covid-19 infections rates in Spain. "The risk has not disappeared," warns the monarch.
Commenting on this, Felipe VI, King of Spain stated, "We see that the virus still has the capacity to harm us in many ways. It is transmitted very quickly, and the risk has not disappeared, on the contrary. That is why we must continue to be careful, to protect ourselves and to act with the utmost responsibility, individually and collectively. We must all do our utmost not to take a step backwards in this health crisis that has caused so much suffering. "

He continued, "We need to understand and integrate the new transformations we are experiencing at an accelerated pace, to take the initiative and try to stay ahead of events, but also to adapt quickly to the changes, always keeping in mind our main objectives and priorities as a country."

The King of Spain added, "We must move forward, because history teaches us that we Spaniards have been able to react and overcome adversity. Today, we have a future ahead of us that requires responsibility, collaboration and mutual understanding from all of us. And that future requires us to have greater confidence in our own strength as a nation."

Concluding his statement, Felipe VI pointed out, "And with the peace and joy that this night represents, together with the Queen and our daughters, Princess Leonor and Sofia we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Happy holidays."
