Sharjah24 - Reuters: Joel Coen's adaptation of William Shakespeare's Scottish play, "The Tragedy of Macbeth", premiered in Hollywood on Thursday (December 16).
The film stars Denzel Washington as Macbeth and Frances McDormand as his wife Lady Macbeth, a couple who become consumed with lust for the Scottish throne, after a prophecy is given to them by three mysterious witches.
Shot entirely in black and white, the film marks the first time that Joel Coen has taken the directorial reins on his own, separate from his brother Ethan.
McDormand acts as producer as well as starring in the film.
"The Tragedy of Macbeth" goes on limited release in theaters on December 25 before streaming on Apple TV+ on January 14.
