Sharjah 24: Sharjah witnessed the inauguration of the exhibition "Anwar Al-Quloub" by Emirati artist Najat Makki at the Sharjah Calligraphy Museum (SCM), as part of the 24th Islamic Arts Festival’s activities.
Held on Sunday, the opening was attended by Abdullah Mohammed Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC), Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at SDC, Director of the Festival, along with several artists, calligraphers and media professionals from different parts of the world.
Emirati artist Najat Makki gave her works in the exhibition, as gifts, to Sharjah museums, authorities, and institutions as a gesture expressing gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his support in regard with arts and culture.
The artworks in the exhibition represent an extension of cultures from past civilisations, a message that addresses the human mind through realising the aesthetic values that exist in nature in order to preserve its symbols, and adapt its beauty into artworks bearing an aesthetic vision, as well as keeping pace with modern developments.
