His Highness' tour is as part of his constant inspection visits to various development projects directed by His Highness in the cities and regions of the emirate to review the progress of work in these projects.
Beginning his inspection tour, His Highness visited the Hanging Gardens project located on the right mountain height next to the Al Hayar Tunnel on Kalba Road where he reviewed progress of work and listened to a detailed explanation from Eng. Salah bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Initiatives Implementation and Infrastructure Development Authority in the Emirate of Sharjah, on the project’s most prominent remaining steps and stages.
His Highness directed the provision of several seating areas in the hanging gardens, up to a height of 60 metres, to provide a distinctive view of the gardens, Al Hafiya Lake and the city of Kalba. He also directed that the mountains opposite the hanging gardens be planted to provide the best views.
His Highness also directed the expansion of the accompanying park within the project, the increase of the number of car parks in it, in addition to the development of service facilities.
Then, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi moved to Al Hafiya Lake, where he inspected the progress of work and the stages of its completion, praising the efforts of government agencies in implementing the project with the best standards.
His Highness directed to start pumping 100 million gallons of water into the lake during the next week, and to plant the mountains surrounding the lake, add many aesthetic elements, and develop service facilities surrounding the lake.
His Highness also directed, during his visit, to directly develop the area designated for restaurant trailers, located at the top of the lake, with a variety of seating areas to provide a privileged location for its visitors overlooking Al Hafiya Lake.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah concluded his inspection visit reviewing the water canal project near the Jubail market in Kalba city, where he was briefed on the general plans of the project and got acquainted with the development proposals in this regard.
His Highness directed the start of the detailed designs of the bridges perpendicular to the canal, while commencing work on deepening the canal to the appropriate level according to the best standards.
His Highness also directed to provide the project with various services and facilities, such as seating places of different styles, a walkway and green spaces, in addition to developing the heritage area overlooking the canal.
Accompanying His Highness during his visit were Dr. Suleiman Sarhan Al-Zaabi, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Kalba, Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), and a number of government departments’ officials in Kalba.
