Sharjah24 – Reuters: Actress Brooke Shields says shooting her new holiday movie "A Castle for Christmas" during the pandemic made it a happy, bonding experience.
The 56-year-old American, who started acting when she was a child, starring in films such as "Pretty Baby" and "Wanda Nevada", said COVID changed the way the movie was made.

''Normally a lot of the time you're on location ...you go back to your hotel room...or you see people outside of your company. (This time) we were all together all the time. So we ate most of our meals together. We would knit every night together," she said.

"We were so happy to be working during COVID."

Shields stars in the new Netflix film as a famous writer, while actor Cary Elwes plays her love interest.

According to a plot summary from the streaming giant the film is about ''famed author, Sophie Brown'' who ''travels to Scotland hoping to buy a small castle... but the prickly owner, Duke Myles (Elwes), is reluctant to sell to a foreigner. Working to find a compromise, the pair constantly butt heads, but they just may find something more than they were expecting.''

''She had killed a character in her books and her fans were outraged. And so she goes to Scotland to sort of get away and and write this next novel," Shields said.

''And what she finds is a community that welcomes her, a man she falls in love with, she doesn't want to fall in love with and a real sort of sense of family in these new people in her life.''

"A Castle for Christmas" is available on Netflix from November 26.
