Sharjah24 – Reuters: Walt Disney's latest film "Encanto" aims to celebrate Colombia's diversity, its people, and its music, and sends a message about overcoming challenges.
The animated film tells the story of the Madrigal family, who possess special powers and live in a magical house in Encanto, a town hidden in Colombia's mountains. All the boys and girls in the family have unique gifts except Mirabel. However, when she discovers that Encanto's magic is threatened, it falls to her to save her home and family. When Encanto's magic seems to be in danger, Mirabel takes it on herself to save the place, the magic and her family.

The musical animation's songs are written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who returned to Walt Disney Animation Studios after his successful run on 'Moana'.

For the first time, Miranda wrote a song, "Dos Oruguitas", completely in Spanish.

Mirabel is voiced by Argentinean born Stephanie Beatriz, whose father is Colombian.

"Encanto" opens in US theaters on November 24.
