Sharjah24: The Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA) has participated in the 6th International Procurement & Supplychain Conference (The 6th IPSC conference), MENA's largest event of its kind, which was organized on Saturday by the Blue Ocean Academy at the Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai.
Built around the theme "One World .. One Supply Chain", the 6th IPSC conference brought together procurement and supply chain professionals, an elite group of thought leaders, decision-makers, and a number of businessmen and investors from across the globe.

HFZA took part in the event as a Title Sponsor, which falls within its endeavors to support the UAE's strategy to sustain the prosperity of supply chains and strengthen regional and international partnerships to ensure the smooth flow of goods and services.

The Authority also took advantage of the 6th IPSC conference to introduce its services and facilities, which are the most comprehensive and competitive among the free zones in the Middle East and Africa.

In his speech, His Excellency Saud Salem Al Mazrouei, Director of Hamriyah Free Zone Authority, said: "The UAE today is the “nerve center of the global supply chain and the role played by free zones in this regard is undeniable. There are multiplying reasons driving this transformation and many ways in which the UAE is acting as a redistribution gateway for multinational corporations. From its integrated free zones to fast customs clearance and strategic location in the east-west trade routes, all of this has contributed to this transformation.

He noted that the success of economic diversification efforts compounded with the effective implementation of national logistics plans and digital transformation initiatives undertaken by public and private sectors are recognized to be some of the chief contributing factors.

"The UAE’s development efforts in the logistics industry are reflected with the release of a new report titled Agility Emerging Market Logistics Index 2020, which observed that the country’s score has improved in all the three sub-indices of Domestic Opportunities, International Opportunities, and Business Fundamentals."

Al Mazrouei noted that HFZA is home to a considerable number of companies specializing in warehousing services, supply chains, distribution, transportation, sea, air, and land freight, thanks to the unrivalled benefits it provides within a competitive, flexible and attractive environment for investments.

"By virtue of its world-class facilities and strategic location that provides easy access to global markets, the Hamriyah Free Zone is housing nearly 6,500 companies from more than 160 countries," he continued.

The 6th IPSC conference was an opportunity for HFZA to meet with procurement and supply chain professionals, businessmen and investors, while spotting light on the advantages of launching new projects and investments in the Authority and the facilities provided to investors in various economic sectors.
