October 27, 2021 / 7:45 AM
Sharjah24 – Reuters: British Argentine actress Anya Taylor-Joy entered the pandemic as a little known actress but after lockdown, she's emerged as one of the prominent young stars in Hollywood.
Her critically acclaimed film "Emma." was released just as lockdown came into effect in many countries. Then, she garnered awards and nominations for her role in "The Queen's Gambit" and became a hit with comic book fans for her role as Illyana Rasputin in "The New Mutants".

Taylor-Joy was the central focus for photographers at the premiere for her new film "Last Night in Soho", where she dazzled in a gold floor-length dress.

In "Last Night in Soho", Taylor-Joy plays the doomed Sandie, an aspiring singer in the 1960s who is used by the men around her and is ultimately killed.

Her story is seen by young fashion student Eloise (Thomasin McKenzie), who discovers she has an uncanny ability to transport herself to the 1960s and inhabits Sandie's body as an onlooker.

The film features sequences where Taylor-Joy and McKenzie flit from one another as the subject of the scenes.

"Last Night in Soho" will hit cinemas in the United States on October 29.
