Sharjah24 – Reuters: British royal drama "The Crown," which focused its most recent season on the troubled marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, took the top television honors at the Critics' Choice awards on Sunday (March 7).
The Netflix show won best drama series, Best Actor in a Drama Series, best actor and actress in a drama series for Josh O'Connor and Emma Corrin, who played Charles and Diana, and best supporting actress in a drama series for Gillian Anderson, who played Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
Netflix's "The Queen's Gambit," about a female chess champion battling drug and alcohol addiction, won best limited series and best actress for Anya Taylor-Joy.
Among other television awards, Michael K. Williams took the best supporting actor in a drama series award for "Lovecraft Country," Uzo Aduba was named best supporting actress in a limited series for "Mrs America," and John Boyea took the award for best actor in a limited series for "Small Axe."
