Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) organised a workshop entitled a "Guide towards sponsoring and developing talented players" at the Sharjah Academy of Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology to promote talented players and develop their levels, as part of SSC strategy aimed at creating champions to represent the UAE in international and Olympic events.
The workshop was attended by His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, Mr. Saeed Ali Al Ajeel, a sports expert, Mr. Nabil Muhammad Ashour, Director of Sports and Development Affairs, and experts and supervisors of individual games in Sharjah clubs.

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami explained that raising the UAE flag in international events, is the goal of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, where His Highness confirmed that there is a difference between raising the flag to participate in an event, and raising the flag to honour the nation in a world championship or an Olympic tournament. Accordingly, SSC developed plans and programmes that would achieve that national goal, which requires finding preparing and developing talents.

His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami added that investing in human capacity and happiness is an essential pillar of the visions and directives of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, whereas SSC adopted a number of well-studied initiatives aimed at upgrading the sports system in Sharjah within the framework of the desired excellence and aspirations of the leadership.

Mr. Nabil Mohammed Ashour, Director of the Sports and Development Affairs Department, extended his thanks to the Chairman of SSC for his support and follow-up to the programme under the supervision and follow-up of the administration, explaining that the workshop aimed to achieve integration between all Sharjah clubs to develop players, through sustainable technical programmes.

Mr. Nabil Mohammed Ashour added that a committee was formed to supervise the implementation of the programme.   The committee includes technical experts and club coaches to follow up the implementation of plans, stressing that sports in Sharjah enjoys great support from His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, and sports infrastructure qualifies the Emirate to achieve many outstanding ambitions.
