SSC-UAE Basketball Association discuss cooperation

Sharjah 24: Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council (SSC), confirmed that the Council seeks to permanently develop the basketball system in Sharjah, which impacts the game in the UAE in general, and contributes to providing distinguished talents from the different Sharjah clubs and to benefit from the Clubs potentials.
Al Hazami discussed the game development while receiving the delegation of the UAE Basketball Association headed by Major General Abdullah Ismail Al Gergawi, President of the Arab Basketball and the UAE Basketball Association; and in the presence of member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Group Games Committee and Vice President of the UAE Basketball Federation; Salem Al Mutawa, Secretary General of the Federation; Mohammed Abdullah Al Hajj, Head of the Executive Office; and Dr. Mounir bin Suleiman, Technical Director of the Federation, at the Council’s headquarters, to discuss issues related to basketball and the cooperation between the Council and the UAE Federation.

On the occasion, Al Hazami indicated that the Council is always working to communicate and cooperate with various sports federations, including the UAE Basketball Association, to discuss the game development, whether at the state level in general or at the level of Sharjah in particular, whereas the emirate is keen to  develop sports and basketball through the great capabilities and unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, given to sports and athletes.

The Chairman of the SSC concluded that the Council supports the efforts of the UAE Basketball Association in organising the GCC Basketball Championship in Dubai, which impacts the wonderful reputation for receiving and organising major sports events. He added that such efforts aim to support athletes who represent the UAE, as well as to support the Federation organising such events.
