Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired at the Sharjah Ruler’s office, Tuesday, the ordinary meeting of the council in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of Executive Council. The Council also issued Resolution No. (19) of 2021, regarding the establishment of the Sharjah Vocational Training Center for Airport Sciences (SVTCAS).
The meeting discussed a number of important government issues that contribute to developing services and providing a decent life for citizens and residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.

The Council issued Resolution No. (18) of 2021, regarding the adjournment of the 1st regular session of the 16th annual chapter of municipal councils in the Emirate of Sharjah.



The resolution stipulates that the first regular session of the sixteenth annual term of the municipal councils in the Emirate of Sharjah will end on Thursday, 20 Dhu al-Qidah 1442 AH corresponding to July 01, 2021 AD, and the general committees of the municipal councils continue to conduct the work of the relevant municipal councils.

The Council also issued Resolution No. (19) of 2021, regarding the establishment of the Sharjah Vocational Training Center for Airport Sciences (SVTCAS). 



The resolution stipulates that a center called “Sharjah Vocational Training Center for Airport Sciences” shall be established in the Emirate of Sharjah, which will have legal personality and full capacity to carry out the necessary legal actions to achieve its objectives and exercise its competencies. By a decision from the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Department, branches may be established for it in other cities and regions of the Emirate.

According to the Resolution, the Center aims to achieve certain assigned objectives, with providing a number of training courses. 

The resolution stipulated that the Center would be managed by a director whose appointment and terms of reference were issued by a decision of the president. The resolution also stated the Center's financial resources. The funds of the Center are considered public funds and are exempted from all local taxes and fees of all forms and types, with the exception of consumer fees. The Chairman of the Department of Civil Aviation issues the necessary decisions and circulars to implement the provisions of this resolution.



The Council was briefed on the response of the Department of Civil Aviation & Sharjah Airport Authority (DCA&SAA), on the recommendations of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) regarding the discussion of the Authority's policy, discussing the recommendations that the Authority implemented, and the others that were put into practice.

The Council approved the proposal of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) to change the name of the Sharjah Hospitality Forum (SHF) to the Sharjah International Forum for Tourism and Travel (SIFTT), aiming to keep pace with the growth witnessed by the tourism and travel sector in general and to expand the frameworks of participation and achieve greater benefit for all workers in this vital and important sector.

The Council was briefed on the main indicators of the forum in previous sessions in terms of the main topics and recommendations, the number of sessions and workshops, participants, attendance and strategic partners from organisations, agencies and companies.
