Sharjah 24: Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), chaired at the Sharjah Ruler’s office, Tuesday, the ordinary meeting of the council in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of Executive Council.
The meeting, being the one thousandth meeting of the Council, discussed a number of important government issues that contribute to developing services and providing a decent life for citizens and residents of the Emirate of Sharjah.
Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi affirmed that government work in the Emirate of Sharjah comes in accordance with the emirate’s main directions aimed at achieving development in various fields through clear policies and plans that all government departments and bodies work on within an integrated system in pioneering government work. He lauded the directives of the wise leadership, emphasising that the human being is a key element for development.
He has highlighted the importance of the consistent cooperation between federal and local government agencies, stressing that this cooperation is a key factor in achieving progress and remarkable achievements. The Sharjah Crown Prince has also underscored the main challenges faced by government action and the most prominent development achievements, lauding the great efforts of all of those who have contributed in enhancing the achievements made during the march of the Council.
Praising the directives and constant support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi has highlighted the role of the Council in promoting the general policy of the emirate, in an integrated manner among all the government departments and bodies, contributing in achieving the main goals and enhancing the development in various sectors.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem praised the role of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of Sharjah Executive Council, lauding his remarkable directives and distinguished efforts that contributes in developing the level of government services in various areas. He praised the role of all the government departments and bodies in cooperating to achieve the emirate's goals, raise the needs of society, and provide distinguished government services that provide residents in the emirate with stability and a decent life.
During its meeting, the Council discussed a number of important governmental issues on its agenda and took the necessary decisions to promote the development of government work and the provision of integrated services to all residents and visitors of Sharjah. The Council was briefed on a visual presentation on the vital sectors in the Emirate of Sharjah and its most prominent achievements, enhancing the Emirate's status by obtaining many international and regional titles, awards and recognitions of Sharjah's pioneering infrastructure in various fields.
The Council issued Resolution No. (17) of 2021 regarding the establishment and organisation of the Sharjah Digital Office, and the resolution stipulated that an office called: (Sharjah Digital Office) would be established in the emirate, with the legal personality and legal capacity necessary to achieve its objectives and exercise its competencies, affiliated with the General Secretariat of the Council and work under its supervision. Its headquarters shall be in the city of Sharjah, and upon the approval of the Executive Council, it may establish branches or other offices in the rest of the cities and regions of the Emirate. The Resolution stated the objectives that the Sharjah Digital Office aims to achieve to exercise its powers. The Resolution stipulates that the office shall be managed by a manager who shall be appointed by a decision of the council, to be responsible of performing the duties of the Office, assisted by a sufficient number of employees, and shall have the necessary powers and authorities to take the necessary decisions to achieve its objectives.
The Council launched the Sharjah Digital Platform, which is a unified digital platform for services provided by local and federal government agencies and the private sector in the Emirate of Sharjah. The platform aims to provide various services on one platform, and to provide integrated and interconnected services. The Council approved the 2nd batch for the year 2021 AD of related to the beneficiaries of the residential lands in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the number of beneficiaries of the second batch amounted to 1,300 beneficiaries who fulfilled the conditions, bringing the total beneficiaries of the 1st and 2nd batches to 2410 beneficiaries in all cities and regions of the emirate.
