Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued Emiri Decree No. (5) for 2021 on the organisation of the Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club (SCCC).
The decree stipulates the establishment of a club specialised in chess, and concerned with cultural and social activities in Sharjah.  

"Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club" shall enjoy the legal entity and the full capacity to carry out the necessary legal actions to achieve its goals and exercise its competencies. Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club shall work under the supervision of Sharjah Sports Council.
 
The Club headquarters  shall be located in Sharjah, and it is permissible by a decision of the Sharjah Sports Council upon the request of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the club to establish branches in the cities and regions of the Emirate.
 
According to the decree, Sharjah Cultural and Chess Club aims to spreading the culture of chess, educating society about its importance, and promoting its practice. It also aims to contribute to the integration of all members of society through practicing the game and all cultural and community activities.

The Club shall enhance the Emirate’s position in the field of chess at the internal and external levels of the country.
