Sharjah24: The Sharjah Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Department, SMAAD, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) at the Department’s headquarters in the Emirate of Sharjah, aiming to promote the joint cooperation to achieve the sustainable agricultural development, livestock and pastures in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of Sharjah Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Department, SMAAD, and Ali Abu Sabaa the Director General of the Center, in the presence of several dignitaries from the both sides.
Commenting on this, His Excellency Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji indicated that the Memorandum of Understanding comes from the SMAAD 's keenness to promote the agricultural development and livestock in the emirate.
His Excellency also praised the importance of this cooperation, which constitutes a fundamental support for the awareness of the local community in the agricultural and livestock sectors.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Nyan, the ICARDA Regional Coordinator, welcomed the signing of the agreement with the Department, stressing the Center's keenness and interest in implementing the terms of the agreement.
