Sharjah 24: His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club (SSC)'s Board of Directors dedicated the 2019-2020 UAE National Basketball winning, for the 7th time in the history of SSC, to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, appreciating his great role and unlimited support to SSC players.
SSC victory and Shield came after 16 year-absence, since the last title the King achieved in the 2003-2004 season, defeating Shabab Al-Ahli Club Dubai team, in the final match, with a score of 106-103.
Al Midfa praised the SSC senior management starting from the board of directors, chairman and members of the board of collective games, coach Abdelhamid Ibrahim and his teamwork consisting of technical, administrative and medical teams and with the support of Sharjah Sport Council.
Al Midfa noted that SSC winning the championship is a great motivation for the team to benefit locally and internationally.
Al Midfa stated that the success achieved by the basketball team after winning the Gulf Championship twice in 2018 and 2019 and winning the League Shield is an additional responsibly on the club's collective games shoulder, stressing that they should continue working to build new generations that could continue what the team has achieved.
