  • From hotbed of crime to joggers' paradise: Nairobi forest thrives
Sharjah 24 – AFP: In the space of 10 years, the Karura forest has gone from a dangerous no man's land to one of Nairobi's safest and most popular destinations, a verdant refuge in a city that has long carried the unfortunate moniker "Nairobbery".
Professor Njoroge Karanja, Chair, Friends of Karura Forest said,"Today we sometimes on a good month have 30,000 people who pay and come into the forest. It’s one of the most visited places in Nairobi."
