Sharjah 24: Sharjah Karate Club won first place in the general standings at the level of countries and clubs in the series of the fourth World Karate Kata and Komite (individual and group) championships, which were held remotely during 9-19 September.
The club’s champions grabbed 23 coloured medals that placed them at the top of the tournament, including 7 gold and 8 silver medals, and the same bronze medals in the tournament, in which 138 clubs representing 51 countries around the world competed, bringing the total participating players to 575 players.

Sharjah Club is the only club representing the UAE in this tournament and succeeded in making its mark as the first Emirati team at the country level to participate in group kata competitions and individual komite competitions remotely, where 17 players and players from different age groups participated in all kata and kumite competitions. The king was able to fight Olympic champions and players who participated in the tournament.

Eng. Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Al Hajri, Chairman of Individual Games Department, member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club, dedicated the achievement to the rational leadership and to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and to the Sharjah Sports Council, who continues its support for individual games and the club’s board of directors for their continuous follow-up to all games and their constant encouragement to achieve successes.
