Sharjah 24: Sharjah Econonomic Development Department “SEDD” participated in the Air Arabia delegation on their first flight from Sharjah to Vienna, the capital of Austria. The delegation included a number of officials, businessmen and other investment companies in the emirate of Sharjah.
This participation comes within SEDD’s concerns to discuss ways of cooperation in the economic and trade fields between the two countries, discuss opportunities and challenges, exchange information on the most important sectors targeted for development, as well as look through the opportunities for establishing partnerships that serve the development goals between the two parties.

Commenting on this visit, His Excellency Sultan Abdullah bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, SEDD Chairman, said that the Department is participating in such visits to promote UAE's position in general and Sharjah’s in particular in international markets and to highlight the investments that the emirate has in addition to the attractive and competitive environment it owns as well. Likely, His Excellency pointed out that these visits play an important role in enhancing UAE's investment opportunities abroad and encourage the flow of investments to and from Sharjah, as well as help in identifying the emirate's advanced infrastructure and strengthening relations between Sharjah and Vienna.

On the other hand, Abdelaziz Omar Al Midfa, Deputy Director of Government Communication Department at SEDD, clarified that this trip to launch the first direct flight from Sharjah to Vienna will contribute significantly to the promotion of trade between the two parties, and will also attract investors from Austria to Sharjah. This will lead to the development of the economic and tourism fields of the Emirate.

In addition, Al Midfa pointed out that this visit will help to enhance the business environment in Sharjah, whereas the development of the Emirate's economy is one of the main tasks of the Department to achieve economic welfare and access to sustainable development. Moreover, he illustrated that during the visit, they will be discussing ways to review the opportunities available to increase trade and investment exchanges between the two sides, especially in the sectors of innovation and small and medium enterprises, which is one of the most prominent sectors of common interest between the two countries. Furthermore, Al Midfa expressed his gratitude and thanks to Air Arabia for the role, they are playing to facilitate such international partnerships, which will contribute to the enhancement of mutual work between the various government entities in the country.
