Sharjah24 – Reuters: Egyptian arts initiative Art D'Égypte hosted an international ceremony on Saturday (October 23), where they showcased international contemporary artwork with a backdrop of the country's famed Giza Pyramids, the last remaining wonder of the ancient world.
Dubbed 'Forever Is Now', the exhibition was the first of its kind to take place at the Giza plateau, which today survives as a UNESCO world heritage site.

The exhibition featured artwork by ten artists, said Art D'Égypte founder Nadine Ghaffar, two Egyptians and eight foreigners.

Among the artists who showcased their work were famed Italian sculptor and former actor Lorenzo Quinn, American contemporary artist Gisela Colón, Ukrainian visual artist Alexander Ponomarev, and renowned Egyptian painter Moataz Nasr.

"Because of COVID-19 we've been separated for a year and a half," said Quinn, referring to his sculpture 'Together', which showed two palms pressed together before the three great Giza Pyramids. "Humanity has started to come together again," he added.

The exhibition kicked off on Thursday (October 21), will run until November 7 and is open to the public.

'Forever Is Now' is Art D'Égypte's fourth annual exhibition.
