Sharjah Police launches "self-defence" programme

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Police launched the "self-defence" sports programme for members of the Punitive and Correctional Department, which aims to achieve greater readiness to deal with the inmates of the penal institution in Sharjah, will run until October.
Colonel Mona Sorour, Acting Director of the Punitive and Correctional Dpartment, confirmed that Sharjah Police is keen to organise such a programme that trains the Punitive and Correctional Department employees, and to raise their readiness and response in accordance with their job requirements, noting that the programme includes sports, psychological, and mental activities, as well as learning the basics and arts of self-defence, which will be provided by trainers specialised in this field.

Major Ahmed Al Junaibi from Sharjah Police stated that such programmes are included in the Sharjah Police list of sports activities aimed at encouraging police personnel to practice different types of sports, especially self-defence ones. Major Al Junaibi noted that the programme includes a large number of Sharjah Police members whose job requires security readiness.

The participants extended their thanks for organising this important programme, appreciating the leadership's efforts to improve the police system.
