The mosque was built according to the modern Islamic architectural style, at the expense of one of the benefactors, on a total land area of 2355 square metres. The mosque includes the prayer hall, along with service facilities for ablution, as well as toilets, housing for the imam and parking lots.
The opening of the mosque was attended by Sheikh Mohamed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Department of Statistics and Community Development, Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department, Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Director of the Branch of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Endowments in Sharjah, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Sheikh Salem bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saqr Al Qasimi. In addition to His Excellency Khamis bin Salem Al Suwaidi Chairman of the Districts and Villages Affairs Department, His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Sabousi, Head of Sharjah Directorate of Islamic Affairs (SDIA) and Ahmed bin Salem Al Suwaidi.
His Excellency Abdullah Khalifa Yarouf Al Sebousi, Head of SDIA, affirmed that the opening of 'Al Risala' mosque at this site comes in response to the need of the area’s residents, and as a continuation of the approach that the Emirate of Sharjah follows in constructing and building mosques in all districts and regions.
His Excellency added that this is in fulfillment of the visions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
